Pedestrian & Bicycle Master Plan, Goddard, KS
Venice, in partnership with RDG Planning & Design, manages the public engagement process of public open house facilitations, facilitate stakeholder meetings, develop social media messaging, manage traditional public relations and media outreach and interview coordination to build awareness and consensus for the project.
The City of Goddard is preparing a Pedestrian & Bicycle Master Plan. This plan will identify overall goals and guide the City’s growth in expanding existing trails, sidewalks and pathways into destination-based networks.
An important part of the process is to talk informally with the public who know the area best and are willing to share their opinions and insights. The City held two public workshops in an informal setting. The first was to ask the public what they think is the best way to create connections and identify barriers and develop realistic concepts for crossing those barriers to enhance the overall quality of life in the City of Goddard.
The second was to celebrate the work the public has done on the project and to give their input and comments on the final alternative plan recommendation. They also held stakeholder interviews to gain input from citizens.
